Frequent Inaccuracies in a Multi-Facility Nursing Home Reports
Situation
Information was being entered into Excel spreadsheets at several nursing facilities and forwarded to corporate headquarters for strategic decision making reasons. Because of the complexity of filling out the spreadsheet and the frequent turn over of personnel the data was often wrong.
A secondary issue was the need to manually combine the supplied spreadsheets into an enterprise level report.
Solution
After reviewing the complex logic necessary in compiling daily information we proposed and developed a secured web site as a solution to simplify and streamline this data collection.
Secure and simplified data entry forms were made available online for each facility. The logic necessary to manipulate the daily information was changed from a manual interpretation of rules to an automated process built into the software.
Elsewhere, facility and enterprise level reports were made available at a moments notice by simply selecting the facility(s) and a date range.
